If you are on a combined oral contraceptive pill (ie: most pills except Lamya), you are usually still protected against pregnancy if you missed only one pill. If you have missed 2 or more pills anywhere in the pack or started a new pack 2 or more days late (48 hours or more), your protection against pregnancy may be reduced, and you should consider taking a morning after pill if you had sex in the previous seven days.
If you have taken Levonorgestrel-based morning after pills (Escapelle or Levonelle), you should restart the oral contraceptive pill within twelve hours. If you have taken the Ulipristal-based morning after pill (EllaOne), you should wait 5 days before restarting your oral contraceptive pill.
Once you restart the oral contraceptive pill, you should use condoms for the next 7 days (9 days with Qlara).
